[b32] No Necromancer unlock
I've found all (4) How to become a necromancer notes, and killed Celia. However, there's no alert to the unlock, and my character creation screen still shows that they're locked.

/edit woops I misread your post, ignore mine xD.
did you get the quest lichborn? Did you complete it and went to the shertul fortress etc?
check data/quests/lichform.lua

Re: [b32] No Necromancer unlock
I got the quest from the alchemist, read the lore in the fortress, then killed Celia. Strangely, the quest isn't in my quest log at all, complete or not.
Re: [b32] No Necromancer unlock
The Last Hope Graveyard does not appear as a quest in the log, for whatever reason. It just shows up as a tile on the world map.
The lichform quest is only available to Necromancers, so he wouldn't have that one if he's still trying to unlock Necromancers.
As far as I can see from reading the lua, the only requirements for unlocking Necros are reading the lore (and I can confirm from personal experience that reading them via the Fortress library suffices), and then Celia's death. (Having the lichform quest active would actually prevent the unlock from firing, because the code checks for that first, and only if that isn't present, checks the lore and then does the unlock. But since you can't have the lichform quest without having the unlock, that's fine.)

Re: [b32] No Necromancer unlock
Do you have to read the lore before killing her?
Re: [b32] No Necromancer unlock
Yes
And yes it's not a quest, just a bonus zone

Ahh, the yes explains it then. It would seem I unlocked my fortress and assumed I had visited the library, however I forgot before attempting the zone. Thanks DG!darkgod wrote:Yes

Reminds me to read the spoilers AND REMEMBER what I read.

Re: [b32] No Necromancer unlock
Making it a quest doesn't seem amiss. We have quests for equally tiny encounters - Bill's lair, Hidden Compound, etc.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).
Re: [b32] No Necromancer unlock
Well, to make it a quest, you need text!
Let's see....
When you first learn of the graveyard:
Ungrol of Last Hope asked you to look for his wife's friend Celia, who has been reported missing. She frequently visits her late husband's mausoleum, in the graveyard near Last Hope.
When you read the note:
You searched for Celia in the graveyard near Last Hope, and found a note. In it, Celia reveals that she has been conducting experiments in the dark arts, in an attempt to extend her life... also, she is pregnant.
When the coffins open:
You have tracked Celia to her husband's mausoleum in the graveyard near Last Hope. It seems she has taken some liberties with the corpses there.
When you kill her, without getting her heart:
You have laid Celia to rest, putting an end to her gruesome experiments.
When you kill her, getting her heart:
You have laid Celia to rest, putting an end to her failed experiments. You have taken her heart, for your own experiments. You do not plan to fail as she did.
... or should this be in Development or Ideas instead?
