[b31] Supercharged Entropic Field

#1 Post by lukep »

Entropic Field can reach 101% slowed projectiles, meaning that they (almost) never hit anything, even if you walk onto the square they were shot from. Achieved with a debug char (221 spellpower, 9.5 effective talent level), but only changed items and character level, so it's (slightly, maybe) possible in the game without cheating.

Also, the flame spell from skeleton mages acted differently from arrows, walking onto their tile hit you every time. This should probably be made consistent.

I think slow motion would suffer the same at 9.5 talent level and around 100 dex. Maybe cap both talents at 90 or put a cap in the slow projectiles code in actor.

Yeah, that's practically never going to happen in a normal game. The SP's (very) possible, but the chances of getting the 9.5 TL is... slim. Incredibly slim. Vanishing, really.

Re: flame vs arrow: Iirc, flame just moves considerably faster than a normal arrow, that's all. Most spell talents do.

Made some better items, 7.5 mastery and 248 spellpower gives 101% as well,
9.5 (or even 15) talent mastery is easily reachable by NPCs. It could be very easy if multiple sources stack additively as well (I don't know if it does)

What I've found so far that does hit:
Slime Spit (I believe, purple ball from a Dolleg)
Insidious Poison,
Frozen Spear
most of the crystals in the caves.
Shooting at yourself with a bow (though you need to leave and reenter the tile)
Turn Back The Clock (same hit as with self shooting arrows)

What doesn't hit:
Some crystals shots
nearly all skeleton archer and master archer shots.

I don't think that the normal velocity determines if it hits or not.
