Google docs was buggering up all t'ell for me, so since my conn's a bit steadier, I'll attach those files here as .txt files... or I would, if the board's attach limit would let me. Instead, here's a couple of pastebin links:

On Vaults

First Steps East

The raw paste data near-ish the bottom comes through nice and clear.

Here's a few pages on Chronomancy including some brief playing tips for each class. Note that this guide reflects some changes in the SVN and isn't meant to be all inclusive by any means.

Chronomancy Guide

I've allowed it to be edited by anyone with the link so please don't mess it up :) Seriously though, it's editable so FM and/or Madmonk can tidy it up for inclusion in the big guide.

With the recent help of a few people, the guide has jumped in completion percentage! Thank you to those of you who have contributed thus far.

These are the next round of things I could use some help on. This is actually more quick and tedious stuff but if I can pass it off to someone else, then it frees up more time for me to write it up. :)

Things I still need are:
Controls list
Possible locations for random/semi random zones
Shops in towns
Difficulty options/what they mean
How Chat works and linking objects/npcs

Come August 3rd, it is looking like I will have character and race overviews/strategies, general zone information, general game play tips, unlock information, and a suggested list of zone order completed for those of you to look over and give some critique on. The deadline I placed on myself is fast approaching and I will do my best to keep my word. The more people that help, the faster and more complete and helpful this guide will be! Thank you for the aide of those that have provided imformation thus far, and a thanks to those that will in the future!

This one is a bit... tricky. The ones in Maj'Eyal can be in a bunch of random places, along with Mr. Hermit Alchy, who I think shares most/all spots he can be in with the spots you can find the random dungeons. Few times I've even seen 3 of the random dungeons adjacent to each other, too. Lesse, in no particular order for Maj'Eyal zones:
  • In a small secluded wooded area northeast of the Sandworm Lair.
  • North of the previous area in the ice.
  • In the ice north of Shatur, the Thaloren city.
  • In a secluded icy, wooded area a little to the west of the previous area.
  • In the icy "valleys" on the eastern side of the icy area in the north (there are two).
  • In a secluded, wooded area on the other side of the mountains from the previous area.
  • In the otherwise unoccupied space between the forest and mountains southeast of the entrance to the Old Forest (there is also a somewhat hidden area near the river and mountains in this area).
  • The furthest point east in Maj'Eyal.
  • The icy area east of the entrance to Daikara.
  • The secluded wooded area south of the previous area.
  • In a secluded area off from the northernmost tile of the north-central river in Maj'Eyal.
Not really experienced enough in the East other than to say the flooded cave can appear in any water (including otherwise-impassible) tile adjacent to a tile you can walk to. Briagh Lair is anywhere in the southern desert. Orc breeding pit is generally in the western half of the East map in heavily wooded areas.
Having satellite internet is a lot like relying on the processes described in those RFC's for your internet. Except, instead of needing to worry about statues interrupting your connection, this time you worry about the weather. I have satellite internet. Fun, no?

As the guide stands right now, without any of my written notes and other things that I'm waiting on from other contributors, this is what it looks like!

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ip9 ... n_US&pli=1

As you can see, it's very barren so far; but fear not, I have a lot of that stuff written, just not typed. I am interested in some help with the following bits:

Overview of the Prides, especially the Orc Breed Pits
What shops are in each town
Tips to properly complete the Valley of the Moon aka Jeweler Quest
Chat and linking things
Any assistance to help further explain/give imformation on the combat, saves, and resist systems

Thank you, and I hope that this sneak peak has ... peaked your interest!

FM

PS: I have it set to where it is editable - if you wish to contribute directly, please do! If you are going to just go and screw it up, please don't! :D

One thing that would help usability for me would be easy access to headings through the search function. For example, make the table of contents similar to this:

Code: Select all

        Introduction to the Guide [INTG]
    Introduction to TOME 4 [INTT]
        Features of the Game [FEAT]
            Unlocks [UNLK]
            Inscriptions [INSC]
            Linear Story [STRY]
            Campaigns and Modules [CMPN]

and place the corresponding tags at the beginning of each section. This would allow jumping directly to the section using only the find function [ctrl + F] and the corresponding code.

I can add this, if people want it.

Added tags to all of the headings in the guide, and tested them all. I will update as more headings are added, if the people who add them don't.

To use this, just search using the built in search function for the heading you want, (including square brackets to prevent plain text from interfering), maybe press down once, and presto! you are at the section you want. For example, to find "Preferred Zone Order" just type/copy paste "[PZNO]" (found in the table of contents) into the search field.

I'll be updating the initial post in this thread everytime there's a new version out. I'm thinking of taking away the ability to update the guide by anyone 'cause there were a view times that I opened it up today and it was straight out gone or just something else entirely.

I have my copy, or the 'master copy' of it saved on my external though, so the google.doc will just be the delivery method probably starting tomarrow.

I've stickied this so we can have a central place for documentation.

Just found this agme and I still have no idea what Stun or Daze mean (except that in the tutorial stun didn't seem to stop things hitting me!)

A list of status effects and what they mean seems realy obvious and basic ..maybe I'm just being obtuse in my searching but neither the wiki nor the forum seems to have any easily found explanation of Stun or Daze.

I would like to see explanations for all the different types of special damage.
slime,
dream forge,
void,
ice,
fire burn,
acid blind,
etc.

Some of them are self-explanatory, others aren't.
