I know, this may sound subjective or whiny, but I think it really is unbalanced. The bosses can be easy, medium, hard, or brutal. And you have to fight one every single level. Starting on dungeon level 1. When you have no way to go shopping, or hit another zone and come back later, etc.
Some of these bosses can hit you with 50-100 point ranged attacks (maybe more!), or stun you and then do the same, or summon shadows or war hounds that can rip you apart with 100-point physical attacks, etc. A level 2-3 character simply cannot cope with this. Even a level 4 character can be nuked by a stun that puts a teleport talent/rune on cooldown, preventing escape, followed by attacks that simply rip you up. You can't possibly cover stun resistance at that point.

Re: [b31] Infinite Dungeon random bosses are too hard
Although I find the random bosses interesting, they need to be toned down on their talents. It's not fun when you get one-shotted by something that's supposedly in your level range.
I think random bosses are getting a lot of talent points per level and reducing this might help.

Re: [b31] Infinite Dungeon random bosses are too hard
Considering that one of my ID characters has been killed by the Sandworm Queen on level 1 of the ID before, I think more than reworking the random bosses needs to be done. I mean, how are you supposed to survive an encounter with such a boss at level 1?! Bosses (both normal and random) needs to be scaled to a mix of the character's current level and the dungeon's current level. Otherwise it's simply no fun...
Re: [b31] Infinite Dungeon random bosses are too hard
The bosses are probably fine once you're in the level 10-15 range (although I can't get there from here). The issue is specifically with the early-game bosses. A boss who is labeled "level 3" (or was it 2...) according to the popup window should not be able to use Anorithil talents that require character level 12 (Starfall). That's just unfair.
Oh, and the more I think about it, the more I suspect the shadow that hit me for > 100 physical damage might not have been the level boss's. It might have popped out of a vault or something. I have no way of knowing, but that particular level of ridiculous lethality is normally associated with a different bug (blood liches in a vault getting focus on the player character who has never opened the vault, and summoning shadows out of the vault).

Re: [b31] Infinite Dungeon random bosses are too hard
I find the idea of random bosses on every level of the ID a bit unexciting and overly predictable.
My suggestion to resolve the predictability issue and the killing off early game characters issue is to give each level of the ID a percentage chance to spawn a random boss equal to it's level - 1.
In other words level 1 of the ID has a 0% chance to have a random boss. Level 2 a 1% chance, level 25 a 24% chance, etc. etc. This will keep the random artifacts rolling in for higher level characters, drastically reduce the predictability (until very deep levels), and greatly improve the chances of survival for low level characters.

Re: [b31] Infinite Dungeon random bosses are too hard
I just got a unique worm on lvl 1 that continually spawned new unique copies of itself. I killed about 6 until I was overcome!
I'm not sure if unique critters are supposed to be able to replicate.

There is a limit
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

Re: [b31] Infinite Dungeon random bosses are too hard
I found a green worm that made 3 copies of itself and then all of them cast chain lightning simultaneously. Owned.
Re: [b31] Infinite Dungeon random bosses are too hard
I'll limit the availability of bosses at lower levels
