[b28] "Particle updater error" in my game

#1 Post by marvalis »

My terminal keeps spamming this message:

Code: Select all

L(96aa198) Particle updater error a8f4918 (2, 4): /data/gfx/particles/storm_lightning.lua:112: attempt to index local 'self' (a number value)
A bit later I was getting this:

Code: Select all

L(96aa198) Particle updater error 9abb598 (5, 7): attempt to call a number value
L(96aa198) Particle updater error a8f4918 (2, 4): attempt to call a number value
Saving + exit and loading the game seems to be a workaround.

I have the visual bug where npc's and the player no longer have a red or green square around their tile. I have no idea if this is related
I get particle errors like that a lot (one playthrough when I reported another bug, I had over 5000)... I'm not really sure if this does anything for me, beyond cause a slowdown if I play for an extended period of time.
Having satellite internet is a lot like relying on the processes described in those RFC's for your internet. Except, instead of needing to worry about statues interrupting your connection, this time you worry about the weather. I have satellite internet. Fun, no?

Try shift-T (or was it Ctrl-T)...
