[b29a] Entering the iron council from the wild

#1 Post by Zonk »

If you enter the Iron Council from the wild, you find yourself on the entrance to 'Escape from Reknor', not on the town exit. Perhaps not a real bug, or worth the effort to fix it, but I felt like mentioning it.

You always end up on that spot every time you enter that city, regardless of which of the three means of entry you use to get there. I'd consider it a minor bug.

This is an engine-wide problem, in my experience. From what I've seen the engine has no in-built support for multiple entrances to an area.

Would there be any way to use the "on entry to this map, start at the last position the player was at" code, like how the sher'tul fortress drops you at the last place on the wilderness map you were at when you leave it?
Having satellite internet is a lot like relying on the processes described in those RFC's for your internet. Except, instead of needing to worry about statues interrupting your connection, this time you worry about the weather. I have satellite internet. Fun, no?
