Ideas for arcane blades

I would like to purpose the following two changes for arcane blades:

Instead of pigeonholing arcane blades into choosing between lightning and fire, I would like to see them have the option to pick two of the four basic elements (earth, cold, fire, air).

Let the arcane blade choose the percentage of which spells activate upon attack if they put five points into arcane combat. I understand that the latency of their magic would make their spells a bit random, but I would think that five points in arcane combat represents attaining a level of control. Also, this change would remove the in game annoyance of continually lobbing fire at immune creatures.
