b27 Abashed Expanse

#1 Post by Hedrachi »

The quest log for this place says "stabilise 3 wormholes.' Got first wormhole in first level, tried to explore as much of it as I could, went on to second level. Fully explored the area but nothing there aside from losgoroths and manaworms, no unstable wormhole. Went to third, killed boss, which updated quest log to show that I'd stabilised all 3 wormholes. Did I miss something somewhere? Also, using Mushroom 32x32 tiles in the area causes the trees to show both a tree and an ASCII tree (#) where I'm guessing only one of the two is supposed to show. But I like the area, gives the player a nice intro to projectile-dodging.
Having satellite internet is a lot like relying on the processes described in those RFC's for your internet. Except, instead of needing to worry about statues interrupting your connection, this time you worry about the weather. I have satellite internet. Fun, no?

The stairs to the next level is the wormhole. Perhaps on the second level it got hit by a spell without you noticing?

I'll admit spotting something black on a black background is hard, but my quest log went from "You stabilised one wormhole" to quest completed just by defeating the boss. Guessing quest doesn't check to see if you've stabilised the wormholes before "completing" it by killing the boss. Maybe the second wormhole was created on the same static island that the stable wormhole was on, in a tree or something? Will investigate once this archmage dies his last death.

Update: Just started another archy. This time I know I saw a wormhole in level 2 of the expanse and stabilized it, and used it to go to level 3. On zapping it with lightning however, the stabilize count didn't increase. I checked before entering it, and after once I was on level 3. Quest log didn't update until the boss died, at which point it got marked as completed.

I managed to kill the boss, but I find no third worm hole. Perhaps the third hole is the Boss himself??
Checking the quest log it says all three worm holes are closed.
Guess I must teleport back now.
