You can cast drain at yourself to regenerate vim. This makes the condition for using Blood Sacrifice - that there has to be a foe in sight - somewhat useless, since it drain provides risk-free vim regeneration. Might as well allow Blood Sacrifice as well, it'd be less of a hassle, but would end up the same.

Of course one should keep in mind that with the respawn change, vim-using classes have gotten more difficult - there are less easy targets for replenishing vim around than before.
