Tile Sizes

DarkGod:
Thank you SO much for keeping my favorite roguelike up to date. You're doing an awesome job. I just have one suggestion:

I've recently been enjoying the Shockbolt tileset, but I have trouble seeing items on the ground when it's in 32x32 mode. I love the detail of the artwork in 64x64 mode, but I lose the ability to see on the screen everything that my character sees. I would love to have a setting in between, maybe 48x48.

Same here. 48x48 would be perfect. Though 32x32 is much more manageable now that the minimap doesn't bug out.

Oh, and pat on the back to Shockbolt for producing such a huge wealth of great quality tiles. Looks especially nice now that we have multi-tiled monsters.

Well, DarkGod has expressed in doing this eventually, so the more people who ask for it, the higher up it will hopefully get on his list :D .

I looked into how to do this when I first got into ToME, and I don't think it'll be very hard, nor do I see any technical reasons it can't be done. It would be awesome to allow players to choose any tile size between, say, 8 and 128 pixels wide. Now that I'm more familiar with the code, this is something I may get to eventually (if nobody else beats me to it  )
