orb of scrying not working in one game only

my promising archmage has a problem. the orb of scrying causes a lua error. another character does not have this issue.

edit: oops omitted this info. it concerns beta 23 both self compiled and the downloaded compile. running ubuntu lucid 64 bits.

no. i did not. nor did i transfer it from another os. i use linux only.

there would seem to be something very odd going on then?

Yaeh a function disappeared.
This is a freak occurence, I saw it .. once .. in the past :/

oddly in all other games i see not such bug. i mean when playing other characters.
