New Beta!

Thanks! Have you considered changing the donation tally to maybe something like "ToME has collected x€ the last 30 days". Some may get intimidated by a large amount.

I think a larger number encourages higher donations. Wouldn't hurt to have both figures though.

Hm, I think it is common practice when asking for money to be put into a box, like as a beggar, to leave just a few coins visible. Nothing makes people suspicious and uncomfortable since most people do not want to deviate from the crowd. Too much money may make people feel their contribution is insignificant or not needed.

But a larger number shows people that other people are donating. Social creatures tend to do what the mob does ;)

*edit* Then again, when the number gets really high it might be good to only show donations each quarter. Then if that is showing to high a number each month. There's some truth in what Mithril is saying but there's some truth in what I'm saying as well. If the number shows that people are donating then it will encourage donations, if the number is really high though (say 1k - 5k+) then a lot of people will assume that Darkgod has been paid enough for his time and just not donate.

Maybe we could have month-by-month graphs...? :P

What would also be an incentive is to show a little of where the money goes - the yearly server costs, for instance.

Personally as I see the figure rising I feel more and more guilty for not donating anything myself yet. I'm tempted to start giving €5 for every release, but at DarkGod's release pace I could end up very broke :/

Ahah grey ;)

Well you can setup a recurring donation, you wont even have to think about it anymore ;>

And yes you're both right, the number needs to be high but not too high IMO, I'll switch to quarterly/monthly, it was part of the Grand Plan since the beginning ;)
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD
