Land speed record

#1 Post by Frumple »

Mostly a call to, a) toot my own horn, and b) see if anyone can beat it. Legit character, no cheat teleportation. Charred scar run. Check the timer.

I could have done a little better, but it's still a heck of a bar to surpass.

Now this is something I could attempt to do ...

Care to explain how you did it - gear load out and talents ect - ?

It was fairly simple, if not exactly easy, heh. Overkitted celerity with >300 SP (-.55 movement speed), boots of speed (-.20 MS), chronomancer staff (-.10 MS) -- for a total reduction of .85, putting my move cost at .15 --combined with 1200%, 9 turn movement infusion. There wasn't anything terribly impressive about the tactics -- pop movement infusion, run past the mostly immobile drakes and elementals, run six more turns after infusion conked out, pop infusion again, repeat. I could have shaved some time off by using dimensional step, temporal wake, and haste in the movement infusion downtime, but that's about it.

Theoretically, with a very specific piece of purple gear (Invigorating boots of speed), I could have done it even faster. That would have put my base movement cost at .5, which I would have then boosted via infusion. If the infusion had been a wizard or psychic ego...

Well. I wouldn't be surprised if it's at least possible to clear scar before the timer hits 590. Maybe even sooner.

EDIT: Oh. Oh crap. I just noticed the nimble ego on light armor. Uh. Hum. I need to test this...

Yeeaaaahh... I used debug mode to generate the kit and restart the quest, but the kit itself is legitimate if insanely rare. I don't think that record can be beat :(

Pfft.

Well, I wasn't expecting it to go quite that far in the beginning. I'd move it if I could, I guess, but it doesn't seem like the thread maker's able to :P

Seems someone has acted on your behalf.

I'm not concerned about the equipment / build spoilers by the way, more the screenshot of a lategame area with mention of timers etc - all very spoily.
