Online Profile

#1 Post by paboperfecto »

I haven't played with my online profile since some earlier Beta but would like to get back onto it. When I start Beta 19 or 20 I can login to my profile (it shows my active profile in the bottom left). As soon as I click "New Game" I get a profile disabled due to no active online profile message and none of my unlocks are available. I've tried moving my T-Engine folder out of the way but I get the same message. It shows me active on the website but none of my characters are getting uploaded. Any ideas?

You have to have the most up to date official release and no edited files.

Did you install over b19? If so, delete it and install it cleanly

I'll give it a try again but I keep all the betas in their own folder.

A clean download gives the same problem. Oh well.

Ahh wait I know
It's because I have *fixed* a bug :)

Go in your home/T-Engine/4.0/profiles
move default away and rename "dev" to "default"

I changed my account password a week ago and something somewhere was storing the old password. I didn't search too hard, edited the online.profile file but that would get overwritten with the old password when I exited. I changed my password back to my old one and everything is great again.

i'm sorry DG. i did as suggested: still profile disabled due to bad game version. deleting both dirs in profiles: still no joy. i complied the game myself. could that be it?

edit: login data stored in the folder profiles/dev/generic

Hum
Ok lets make sure:
1) reinstall b20 in a new directory
2) wipe away all the profiles folder (or move it)
3)try (you need to resupply login info obviously)

Something I had to do to log on my profile, using beta 20b, was to delete the tome.team file in the game/modules directory. It did the trick for me, so I don't know about you.

I'm getting this:

Code: Select all

[MODULE LOADER] module MD5 7a2ecc271863be9ebf22ed2e3b323d78 computed in 95
[PROFILE] switching to dev profile
[ONLINE PROFILE] auth
[ONLINE PROFILE] rpc called http://te4.org/lua/profilesrpc.ws/TryAuth
[ONLINE PROFILE] auth as Leffe
...
[LOG] #LIGHT_RED#Profile disabled(switching to development profile) due to no online profile active.
It appears to be logging in after a check for being logged in.

It's not working here either.
I redownloaded and recompiled it, renamed the .t-engine/4.0 directory, renamed and deleted (tried both) the tome-3.9.20.team file.
It acts as though I'm logged in (no login error or anything, etc), but gives the error about no online profile active and doesn't download the profile information (i.e. unlocks etc.).
Oooh that's a great item...for my char that just died....

deleted the game dir and the profiles dir. then unpacked the source, compiled it again.

the unlocks are still there.

Just for kicks you could try running the windows version in wine. I doubt that this would solve anything but you never know right.
