remove Flame spell from skeleton mages

#1 Post by martinuzz »

I have a habit of wanting to open every vault I see.
This has caused me to lose a *lot* of my skeleton Arcane Blades to a mage vault.
Specifically, most of these casualties were to a skeleton mage casting a Flame on me.
Now an early character in the undead starter dungeon can take 1 hit of whatever a skeleton mage throws at them, and then use the phase door rune to hopefully back out to safer grounds.
Except, the Flame spell. The burning this causes will always kill a low-level player.
Now, with my high-risk playstyle, I don't mind losing tons of characters. Losing is fun.
But a skeleton mage's Flame, especially in the early game, feels a bit too overpowered, as it means 1-hit followed by unavoidable crispy death.

So I suggest, remove the Flame spell from their repertoire. I wouldn't mind if they got some spell in return for it, as long as it does not give them 1-hit lethality.

You can use wild Infusions or shielding Runes to migrate the damage. However I hear in the next beta(s) there will be a change to the combat system that will most likely result in the nerf of activated abilities. This will most likely fix the problem of 1 hit kill by the skeleton mages.
Those who complain are just Volunteering to fix the problem

<yufra> every vault designer should ask themselves exactly that: What Would Grey Do?

I activate shield before or after opening the door.
