Black screen after launching

I downloaded the game from the website and I got a black screen with music upon starting. The cursor is the game's one, but nothing else shows. It opens as a window. I thought the website version might be bugged, so I got it from Steam. Same thing happens. No idea how to fix it, and the previous solutions don't seem to work with the current build. Any help at all would be immense, thanks!

Welcome to the forums Nivak94,
Nothing obviously wrong seems to be showing in your log file - you seem to be trying to run TOME in a 1920x991 window so I would suggest setting it to fullscreen first.
Secondly, the second-to-last log line refers to downloading updates from Steam. Try disabling online connectivity (in game press Esc, then Game Options/Online/Disable Online Features) and see if that makes any difference.
Thirdly, the last logline is incomplete indicating a process hang at that point. What graphics card are you using - and if you are running a laptop using Optimus (or any other dual-GPU option) make sure that the more powerful GPU is enabled (this can be done via Nvidia Control Panel with Optimus).
Finally, try running TOME using t-engine-debug.exe (rather than t-engine.exe) and check/post the logs from that.
