ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I've played for a while and never had this bug before, but entering the hidden vault in Grushnak Pride zone 3 trapped my character. If I try to use the stairs to exit the vault, I appear in the middle of another randomly generated hidden vault of the same name. Is there a way to recover a character that's been made useless by a bug?

You can simply Rod of Recall out or if you're online, ask a mod to teleport you out.

This bug has been fixed for next patch.
