So I did the race evolution and I didn't get anything as far as I can tell from it. no new race tree or obvious bonusses

Did you die? It specifically says you won't become a lich until the next time you die. When you die you get a prompt about your lich appearance and you become a lich.

i died and i got to choose 3 things my new life potion i had drunk.
the lich regeneration (72 turns)
and the exploration revive
i chose the lich regeneration.
and now im back but im still totaly the same.

Post your character's name/link maybe to check what it looks like, that seems weird though if you got the lich regeneration it means you are a lich, so you should have the immunities(bleed/poison/disease/stun) as well as the lich tree. Maybe you have some addons that are messing it up? Class/race addons are especially buggy when new stuff is added until they're updated.
