A working code is entered and the portal activates, but a portal does't actually open.
The code from Kroshkkur is the code that was entered.

If the save is still useful I can send, but I plugged in a code from an ambush encounter which worked successfully, and then tried the code for the Drem unlock and then it worked? Maybe some one off oddity?

I have this same problem and have backed up a savefile. I went to attach it but was too big. Am happy to send!
