[1.6.1] Annihilator dual-wields pistols to no effect?

Annihilators can dual-wield pistols, but as far as I can tell having a second pistol equipped has no effect. Am I missing something?

I think dual wielding steamguns (such that it does something) is a Gunslinger-only property.

I didn't expect Annihilators to be able to usefully dual-wield them, so I didn't expect them to be able to dual-wield them at all.
