I tried to put them on as magic casting character - and after that when tried to transmog them there was no such option.

certain items cannot be transmogged
these include crude iron battle axe of kroll and razorblade, the cursed waraxe
and some special event artifacts
it hadn't occurred to me that it might be a bug
