Stuck at top of Tannen's tower

Just completed Tannen's tower, and when he died it showed a portal blink for a second and then was gone. I'm now stuck at the top, with no way out it seems. Can't use Rod, using Orb says there's no portal. Any help, possibly? Really wanted to take this character to the end.

Can you send me the savefile please?
It's located in c:/users/FOO/t-engine/4.0/tome/save/CHARNAME
I only need desc.lua and game.teag; zip them up and upload them somewhere
