Not quite sure what intended behaviour is here, especially given this is a new skill, I wouldn't necessarily expect Sunburst to explicitly target the arcane amp drone, (although having it do so, if it has free targets left after firing at all enemies would be rather nice) but even when positioned in front of an enemy so sunburst has to fire its beam through the drone to hit the target, the drone does not take damage or trigger.

No friendly fire on sunburst. As to wether or not it's intended...

The particle effect doesn't accurately reflect the damage projection (the damage is single target, not a beam).
This was an oversight and will hopefully be fixed.
Though perhaps all sunlight talents shouldn't friendly fire (biggest complaint about searing light is friendly fire, fire beam doesn't friendly fire).

Having thought about it, it would be really nice if all of the auto-targeting spells, corona, hymn of moonlight etc, fired any "spare" volleys at the drone having fired at least once at all other valid targets

Should just make the AAD its own faction and hostile so it triggers on all combat spells. Or at least put a clear no friendly fire tag on all spells that won't trigger it.
