The bolded part seems janky, and I'm assuming is not intended?

It's light damage that lights up tiles.

As Cathbald says, and as intended. Item wielder properties don't support damage bursts on-hit in the same fashion as you might find on a weapon, so I had to create a new damage type which handles the burst itself. The longer item description tells you what it actually does, while this is more of a short-hand reminder.

I'd suggest "illuminating light burst" as a better description as it says what it does without looking like a duplicated damage type
