ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hello, as the subject suggested I was fighting the Weirdling Beast to unlock the fortress as a Undead Temporal Warden when I use See the Threads to help out. Through a mix of things this creates two Weirdling Beasts to fight so I leave the floor as to not die. I rest and then go back down to see if I can beat them or wait until I'm a higher level but when I go down they're not there. The quest is still not completed and I can't get in nnow. Is there anyway I can fix this or am I locked out of the fortress forever?

Just wanted to let you know I found this while googling, the exact same thing happened to me as Temporal warden using STT. Second Weirdling spawned, I left the room on my 3rd reality, came back and "completed" the quest by killing the fake weirdling which then left the actual Weirdling completely disabled and invulnerable.

I think the answer is just don't use STT... Oh well...
