ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I'm playing on Steam and two of my characters that I've gotten to Gates of Morning have gotten stuck on the "Generating Level" message. When I close out and go back into their loads, its just a black screen with my normal hud and the date rapidly going forward. None of the skills work properly and I can't leave. Help!

i am also having this problem but at random on zone change. has happened to a charachter in last hope and sunwall outpost. causes a corruption of the save files and results in an effective dead character. in my case the last hope was stuck in a walll in im guessing map position 0,0 which is inside a forest tile with no legal movement. is this a bug with threading and zone in data?

For this sort of error, you need to close the game immediately and check the log file for the error message, and post it in the bugs forum.
Do not attempt to load the save file. Firstly, it won't work. Secondly, it will reset the log file.
