reknor farportal disabled by tentacle tree

the farportal in lost kingdom of reknor(4), if a tentacle tree spawns dead in the middle of it, will permanently disable the farportal, at least if you attempt to use the orb of many ways before touching the tentacle tree
I do not know if this will also happen if you touch the tentacle tree BEFORE attempting to use the farportal
