ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I've been trying to install tome4 on Windows 10 using the windows launcher. However, everytime (I've tried it thrice now), instead of glorious ToME, I see a white windowed screen, and the only way to close it is to End Task it via the Desktop Manager.

I include the (redacted) log file below.

Any ideas?

Note: I've seen others having this issue but it appears that the solution (if one is given) varies significantly by user.
