ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I killed the megaboss on the third level of this location and he drop the Forbidden Tome "Home, Horrific Home". But I can't read this book and there's no exit. I tried to kill myself on trap and ask guy in space get me out of there, but he refuses. I don't know what to do.

There should be an exit thing somewhere. Pressing "z" should take you right to the exit. Failing that, try the Rod of Recall.

Same issue. Pressing Z does nothing. Is the character screwed and I need to delete the character because of a paid for DLC book?
