ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I stepped out of Gates of Morning and my character had vanished. I couldn't move and couldn't reenter town. I tried to quit and reenter the game, but now I am off the coast of Maj'eyal near the Sandworm entrance, still not visible and unable to move. Time seems to keep on passing and I have a vision range so I can see as people run by on the beach every now and then.
