Hello, when and where did you download the game ? (te4.org or steam or someplace else?)

Just a me-too post.

I've been running 1.4.8 on this mac with no problem. OSX 10.12.2, current Oracle Java.

I downloaded 1.4.9 today from te4.org (my account is te4 only, not Steam). Clicking opens to a small (800x600?) black T-Engine4 window with no game. The "About T-Engine" menu item shows Version 1.0 (1).

I can put a te4_log.txt file in the game folder, but nothing gets written to it.

I have the same small black screen, trying to run versions 1.4.9, 1.4.8, and 1.4.0 on my Macbook Pro running OSX 10.12.2. All versions downloaded from te4.org.

Version 1.0.5 runs fine, but would like to convert my characters and run the latest.

Thanks for any help!

Followup note: 1.4.9 still fails to open its window properly in OSX 10.12.3.

Followup note 2: Instead of clicking on T-Engine.app, I can open a Terminal window and type the commands:

cd ~/My\ Applications/t-engine4-osx-1.4.9
./T-Engine.app/Contents/MacOS/t-engine

The game works ok if started that way. I'm starting to think the problem may just be a conflict between the startup app and Finder's Gatekeeper, which became even less permissive in OSX 10.12.x.

FWIW, 1.5's launcher doesn't seem to have this problem. I only got the ordinary hassles with Apple's Gatekeeper the first time I ran the 1.5 launcher.

"Ordinary", meaning I had to Ctrl-click the launcher app, select Open, tell Gatekeeper it's ok to open, and type an admin password into the dialog. (Never, EVER, play games while logged into an admin account. Only use an admin account for admin purposes. Use a non-priviledged account for normal purposes.)
