ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I was about lvl 43 TW, generally with my game left open constantly. I find this tends to lead to longer saves, so I close and reopen it once in a while. This time there was a patch available for the game from 1.4.8 to 1.4.9. Now I have no save files, all my addons are gone, all my unlocked classes and races are gone, and all my saves in the folder are non-existant. Since I still have my character on my profile, and the 2 items i put into the vault, this is really annoying. I just bought the game a few days ago too. How can I get my character back?

Odd. Try showing incompatible saves on your load game menu?

Addon's are in the same folder as the base install, are you using the steam version or the version off the website?

Saves aren't stored there, there's no way you could've accidentaly wiped them. They should still be there. Go check in C:/Users/yourusernamehere/t-engine/4.0/tome/saves/yourcharactersnamehere

This sounds like you are playing a different instance of the game files after you purchased it.
Did you change from playing non-steam to steam version?

I don't have a tome folder under C:\Users\name\T-Engine\4.0
I have boot, profiles, and settings. Only boot has a folder named save, and its empty.
C:\Program Files (x86)\ToME\T-Engine\4.0 has a tome and save folder, but only contains
my current character Matharus.

I load the game using the game launcher, not steam. Everything was fine up until i updated.
If you check my online profile, you can see my latest character, lvl 43 TW, is still alive.

Odd. Did you manually tell it to put the save data there?

I didn't change anything that would alter where saves would go.
The only thing that I did was update from 1.4.8 to 1.4.9

I'm hoping a dev could look into my profile or something and check it out.

Unfortunately no saves are stored on the profile. So if you can't find the folders, then they are gone.
Are the addon files also missing?

Yes, it's like the update took my folders, deleted them, and replaced them.
