ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Ok, I might be hallucinating here, but I'm pretty sure I assigned two generic points after completing the arena quest and after confirming the change only one of them was registered. After I opened my talent tree again, one of the points was not assigned.

I'm playing a Cornac Doomed, no addons. I was level 9, so I think I should have 15 generic points at this time, including the 2 "free" points, one in the curse and one in Unnatural Body, but I added it all up and there are only 14. Am I missing something here?

Oh I think I'm missing the fact that at level 5 I get two class points and not a generic, right?
