ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Happened to be in the orc starter town, as well as in Yeti caves:

Urizen drains life from kurat!
Urizen receives 2 healing from kurat.
Urizen hits kurat for 16 fire damage.

Urizen hits kurat for 16 fire damage.

This is the first character I play in Embers or Rage, which I just installed.

I can see if this happens when I create another character.

Edit: Also happens with another character I created, and the same location (NW corner in Kruk Pride, around 5 squares left from the herbalist door)
Edit2: Seems to consistently happen in the same section of the map - also in NW corner of Sunwall outpost

your problem might've been that your embers winner was dreamscaped while wearing a fearfire cloak or whatever its called, which is whats dealing damage to you

I have had this sort of bug before, except it was a tree of life equipped by a dream projection of a previous winner of mine which hurt my character since he was undead

to fix that bug, go to C:/users/your account and put the T-Engine folder somewhere else, like the desktop or something, then get a new, second copy of ToME, and keep the old one on the desktop or something
a new T-Engine folder would be created, and new characters would not be affected by that bug

to avoid that bug, never let a character who has a tree of life or fearfire cloak equipped get dreamscaped(tree of life hurts undead), or better yet, just don't wear them at all

the purpose of keeping the old files is so you can use the item vault; simply move the new T-Engine folder to the location of the old one, and the location of the old one back to the location the new one was in, then use the item vault, then do it the other way around when you're done


instead of this stuff, you might be able to fix it by deleting world.teaw located in C:/users/your account/T-Engine/4.0/tome/save , but you should check with a dev before doing something like that

Just a correction: the winner was from the original campaign, not Embers. However, you might be on to something since he indeed is/was wearing the fearfire mantle: http://te4.org/characters/185164/tome/7 ... e56834c09b

I was asked to attach the world.teaw file, not horribly bothered by this, mostly was trying to provide info in case this could be a bug that affects others as well.
