ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So I was wandering around in a pocket of distorted time, killing random things to bump me up to lv. 50, when suddenly THIS happened:
When I returned from death, I seemed to be in the middle of a 3x3 square of fire, and when I moved, I took another ~19 million mind damage from myself and died again. Fortunately, after that I was able to escape the burning square and GTFO of there. I decided that killing ambushes for their measly 1-2% exp. per encounter was the safer route to go.

Say hello to Mr. Fiery Blanket. He just wants to hug.
(It's a major anomaly, nothing more than that. They're mean.)

Never seen that much damage from anomaly's fire - usually it is 200-300, nothing more.
