[1.3.3] Permanent "Fed Upon" after dying with it active

I died fighting a rare mosquito swarm, but the effect wouldn't go away after I killed the rare, nor after leaving the zone. I could only exit maps with the Rod of Recall at first, but now I've entered Zigur and can't leave at all. My character can't remove mental effects, so this playthrough is probably over.
