Option to return to worldmap after death in portal room

Opening the farportal room spawned enemies which were unkillable for my character* and on death there was no option to port back to another location, essentially ending the game.

I was asked to create a post, perhaps this is something that could be improved.

* - playing a doombringer, the spawns were 3 luminous horrors (one unique), dragging me back with Dark Portal and Flame leash, and being healed by all fire damage.

the fortress is a special zone that doesn't allow send backs i believe, so that's not a bug.
certain enemies ALWAYS spawn in packs. luminous is one of those. so not a bug here either.

doombringer you say... i once had to do that fight as a sun pal.
wasn't nice. it ate like 3 of mi lives, but after deactivating all the sustains, and PoS'ing away as often as i could, i eventually got him down.
a nasty encounter. and you'r probably wasn't much better since most of your damage is fire, although i believe you do have some blight spells right?

If dying in the fortress is designed to prevent reappearing elsewhere, this seems something that should be adjusted. The horror fight at the farportal can often be newbie-bait resulting in rapidly dead characters. And it's not feasible (quite often) to run away given the architecture of the zone, and the room the enemies spawn in. Leaving players with no warning how bad what they're getting into is, combined with no warp-out option on death is almost a case of Spoilers or Die. Which seems contrary to tome's overall design.

Does it actually hurt to add in the capability to respawn elsewhere from the fortress?

i would guess all it would take is change a single line?
if you mean gameplay wise, it probably wouldn't hurt.
