ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

first off, sorry if this is the wrong section but i have no idea which section i should be posting in here (what is ToME 4 anyway? i just downloaded 1.3.1 from the main site).

anyway, the launcher just finished downloading and verifying the game for me but when it gets to

"Unpacking files: 4/193 - 100.0%

Error: Access is denied."

it just stops with both bars red.

ok...just tried the launcher again, in admin mode this time and what the heck? now it's re-downloading the entire thing all over again.

T4 is T-Engine 4.

Tome's history dates back to when it was an Angband Variant, by the name of PernAngband. From there, it Became ToME2 (AKA Tales/Troubles of Middle-Earth). From my understanding, this was the beginning of the truly unique programming that took the base angband engine and modified it, so that it could allow modules/addons, and third-party content to be added. Later, an attempt was made to remake this game under a new, more modern engine, This was T3. This project was aborted, to my knowledge, though you might be able to find someone who has betas tucked away if you're interested. It was rebooted as Tome4, this time without the tolkien references, and became Tales of Maj'Eyal, the game we have today.

As for your updater issues, this isn't a bug I've run across before. Did the full-redownload work? There were some broken issues with the updater a while back, but it just wouldn't download anything. (This was also fixed.) If you started getting some files, but not others, that's strange.

launcher is useless.
anything it can do, you can do faster and better (except for updates maybe, but they are rare anyway.)
the "t-engine" icon that is in the folder works perfectly fine.
i just simply drag it out myself.
don't "unload" or "decompress" or anything like that. just open the damn folder, select EVERYTHING, and drag, it, out.
press and hold the left mouse button, move it over the folder you want it in, and drop there. works for me.

btw, i am using windows.
