ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I've had some strange behavior from escorts lately. I'm running the succor mod, so that maybe contribute to it, although it seemed to work fine for a while.

Anyway, the latest problem is an escort who refuses to move. He just sits where he spawned. I've saved and reloaded and he still won't budge.

Succor does something weird in that it can generate escort portals behind doors, which prevent escorts from pathing to them. Simply open those doors and the escort will work as normal.

Also, portals can spawn in vaults, so be careful.

portals can always spawn locked away.
when they do so, the game prevent escort from spawning.
if you open the path, escort will spawn the next time you visit that area.
