Bug when leavin fortress for first time

Hello,
I was playing an ogre demonologist and just captured the fortress under lake Nur. I tried to use the portal to leave after talking to the hologram and collecting all the library information. It gave me the usual transmogrification screen, but then after I closed that I did not change zones. Instead I just got frozen one tile away from the portal. None of the skills work when I click them or type their hotkeys, but the esc, log, and skill tree menus all still work. I was able to use rod of annulment on myself and the rod of recall just gives the standard message about not working in the fortress. The log updates about once a second with a new in-game date, as if time is quickly moving forward in the game.
Is there anything I can do to salvage this game? Unfortunately I tried restarting and so forth, and it loads in this same state.
