never ending area creation

Hi,

a few releases ago, there used to be a problem with area creation. It just went on forever, you had to kill the game to get out.

I haven't seen that in a long time, but today (in 1.3.1) I ran into the same problem (or at least something with a similar result) again.

I'm having the same/similar problem!

I lost one run because the Ruined Dungeon loaded infinitely (infinite dungeon indeed...) and when I went back to the save file after killing the game, I spawned inside a wall! When I teleported out, the game skipped all my turns while monsters murdered me.

More recently, the freeze happened to the Last Hope Crypt, and it was generated with no map! Player doll didn't even show, and while I could do non-targeted actions, I couldn't target myself with anything, and no time would pass so I couldn't recall out. I had to go into developer mode to get out =/

somewhat recently the infinite generation happened to me twice.
both of those had a mod called "aether operator".
when i reloaded, the map was looking ... a bit weird.
i could move, but as soon as i stopped the time got insane and started passing by insanely fast.
also, i was in the center of the map (which btw, they were both towns).

as the mod is a bit outdated, i dismissed it as it happened, but if there is another reason might as well mention it here.

Yeah, I just got hit with the same bug as the post above, but my addons are different. It's consistently happening in Elvara. A character's being held hostage by the cold grip of passing time.

It happened to me again, and I don't have Reaver Tweaks or Aether Operator

The weird thing about it was, after I warped out and back to the bugged floor using debug mode, there was a clone of myself sitting at the place I had first spawned... It wasn't doing anything. And it didn't react to being attacked. It was just an exact clone that didn't do anything.

Something is very wrong with this game's level generation

This bug happens to me tonight.
Stuck during the level generationof Daikara(4)... :(
I killed the process, but the game reloads badly (all is black and time passes fast, no action possible...)

This is almost always an addon problem (but can occur in vanilla, just more rarely). When it happens immediately check the game log for an error. The failed level generation will cause subsequent loads to be a black screen as you saw. More info on how to check the log: http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=43181
