ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hello all,
I loved the base game and wanted the DLC because I love options . . . I just can't get it to work. I downloaded it and can see it in the addons, but nothing seems to work. I don't have any new classes and new characters I create don't require the DLC according to their save file. Am I missing something?

Is it ENABLED in the addon list? Once in place it should show up in the addon list, and when enabled there the character creation screen should have Doombringer available under the Defiler category.

Only thing I can think of aside from it perhaps not being enabled usually causes problems with things not working, not with it just not showing up. If you have it through steam then it will download and appear in the dlcs folder. If you manually also put it in the addons folder then two copies get loaded and this tends to break things.

It is currently set to auto enable. I deleted it in the folder and redownloading it.

After redownloading it, I saw it in my dlc/addons list. I realized that I had not tried to manually enable it. I tried that and it now works.

It stopped working again . . . Is there something that I'm missing that I need to do???!!

I did not change anything after it started to work.

That's really strange. Can you verify that there isn't a copy hiding in both Addons and DLCs folders?

Yeah. There is only one copy and it is in DLC.

I think I figured out what was going on. I think that you all have some sort of protection mechanism built in to keep people from ripping off the dlc for free (at least that would explain it). I have not been able to get connected to steam because I made a short cut going directly to the game itself. For whatever reason, that seems to bypass steam and keep it from authenticating my account as online. It seems that everything works fine if I launch the game from within steam.
