ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I went through the far portal and ended up in a curiously tiny level. Killed a few critters and decided to go down the stairs... Five minutes later, ToME is still trying to generate the next level.

I killed the ToME process, re-loaded my game, and gave it another try - same result. I've uploaded the full save here in case it is helpful:
