Hey! I did the Caldera wife dream before entering the second area, then as I was fighting I entered another dream. Turned out to be the wife dream again! Well, I killed all the illusion yeeks and now there is nothing there and I am stuck in the dream. There isn't an exit and when I saved my real character appeared in the dream, but I can't use him or walk over him! Anyone know what is up?

This is an annoyingly persistent bug. We're not entirely sure what causes it. I've done the dreams dozens of times without seeing it, and some people seem to see it almost every time. The good news is, you've done it once successfully. Now, to get out of the dream, you can kill yourself.

That's not a joke, dying in the dream just makes you exit the dream, though you lose something like 60% of your (current) health when you do, so hopefully there aren't enemies around. (So long as the dream was caused by timer running out. If you touched the dream orb altar thing, this is NOT true and then you will lose a life. If this is the case, one of the moderators can help fix things, either by warping you out of the dream, or direct savefile editing. Probably the latter, since you aren't your own character at the time.)

Secondly, if you're advancing to the second area, be cautious. There is reason to successfully complete both dreams at least once, before slaying the boss.

Good news: We do know what causes it now and it's fixed for 1.3! I tracked down when it broke and 0player wizarded up a solution. Additionally that noob-trap of an altar will be different.

the bug is known? what is it? HAT IS IT?!
is it "can only spawn once"? is that what is it?
i already said it the last time it was posted. i did not say anything about character appearing in the dream however. that's cause you saved inside of the dream i believe.

Thanks! I did figure it out before this post (and subsequently screwed up by messing with the altar... Doh!). But I at least got the unlock .

No, it wasn't unique.
The code was using the original entity from the spawn list rather than cloning it like everything does. Thus, the second time in one playthrough when it tried to be added to the level, it was already dead and got removed.
Happens.
