ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

This isn't exactly a bug, but it's been bugging me since I started playing the game and it seems easy to fix.

After you've gotten the quest An Apprentice Task and returned with an arcane-powered artifact, a window opens to let you select from any applicable items to give to the NPC. After selecting an item, the item disappears but the selection window stays open. You don't actually need to give him any more artifacts, but if you happen to click another artifact it will also be taken away. In order to continue with the quest, you need to press Escape to close the window.

Why not just close the window after you select an artifact? Every other item-selection dialog closes automatically after you make a selection. It may sound dumb, but I've actually lost multiple artifacts to this quest before by misclicking or hitting a keyboard shortcut while the window was open. I could see new players being confused by this as well, thinking the item they gave didn't satisfy the quest requirement.

There is another weird behavior with Apprentice Task, when we're playing as Archmage. This Apprentice is, in fact, Archmage Tarelion. So, initially Tarellion sends archmage to complete 'Spellblaze Fallouts' quest. After its completion, archmage appears near the portal to Angolwen and sees Tarelion near it as apprentice. Archmage can go to Angolwen, and can see Tarelion inside this town again. What is this Tarelion's instant relocation? I think, it would be better to suppress this quest for Archmage: actually its completion give no any profit to archmage as he already knows about Angolwen and the price of 1 tier ring, which Tarelion gives to archmage, much lesser then the price of arcane powered artifact, which archmage gives in exchange.

Well, the arcane art is question generally happens to be some trash like Kor's Fall! Also, he's the cit mayor, and likes to troll adventurers, obviously.
What's more worrisome is that apprentice can be KILLED, but Tarelion stays intact...

I don't think the ring he gives is always tier-1. I'm pretty sure I've gotten voratun rings from him.
