No escape from Santascape

Ive killed the boss on Santascape but no portal spawned (also killed the both elfs), there is no other exit either, digged through every tree.
Rod of Recall doesnt work. Even killed myself to see if I can teleport to a "safer place".
Already checked the forum but only found posts 1 year old, describing the same bug.
Some idea how to exit santascape without using developer mode?
Is it possible to fix this bug for already stucked characters?
