Unable to Save Game Progress

Hello. On todays play session with my lvl.28 Halfling Reaver I actually managed to clear Dreadfell and Dark Crypt and got to lvl 31. However, when I went to the big city to do the Melinda quest it went into an endless loop and I was able to retrigger the event from the beginning just by clicking on the quest NPC door. However, Melinda never showed up in my Fortress and then when I saved/quit and came back, I noticed my Reavers saved game showed lvl. 28 in Dreadfell. I loaded into the game just to check and it put me back at that old location/lvl again.
