ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I'm running a Shalore anorithil, currently level 23 (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64-bit). I have Twilight Surge set to auto-cast when available, and Bathe in Light set to auto-cast when no enemies are visible. Somewhere along the way, both of those auto-casts stopped working. I've tried disabling and re-enabling auto-cast for both, to no avail. Since auto-casts and sustains are so important for anorithils, this is really cutting into this character's playability for me.

Not sure what other information to include, but I will be happy to upload whatever piece of her savefile might contain useful clues.
