1.2.4 An apprentice task quest broken

i was able to have the quest but apprentice mage disappear and is nowhere to be found
i'm a lv 17 elf bulwark
so the only choice that left me is to take the zigur path
:( ?
this is a goodbye to all my powerered by arcane force items ?

You don't have to support either side to finish the game.

The only dungeons you need to clear to win are Dreadfell, Reknor, the Prides, and High Peak. Everything else is filler to make you buff enough to handle those.
