I don't understand? I've unlocked the lucky girl achievement twice now (you can view that on my profile) and for some reason i still don't have this unlock. Can anyone help? i Have the redhead cosmetic option though so i don't understand why i don't have this

You get the redhead option if you simply rescue Melinda. After that, there's another quest you can do later which involves going to the beach with her. If you successfully complete that quest, that's what unlocks the bikini/mankini. I've never done the beach quest myself, because I habitually choose the "Oh, you're all better? That's nice. Bye." option instead of the "I've got a seekrit fortress! Let's shack up, you gorgeous case of Stockholm syndrome who almost got me killed, you!" option.

I know! I did do the beach quest where a bunch of orcs attack her and then I didn't get the unlock

Huh. Were you playing on Easier difficulty? On Easier, you can't unlock stuff.

you can't have achievements on easy difficulty.
I've heard it may affect some unlocks, but I am pretty sure when I unlocked it on easy difficulty.

also, if you say "orcs" you probably did't actually do it, because what is the chance you just did not see the massive difference?

Hm? What massive difference? Orcs is what I remember but I just remember saving her at the beach. I'll try again on my next play through though and if it still doesn't work I'll repost

Orcs usually don't come out of the water and are all white and furry. That difference

No achievements on easy... pretty sure no unlocks either, but may be wrong.

when you rescue her from the beach a bunch of things (can't remember their name, too lazy to look) that look like gloop and gleep from the Herculoids rush you... I'm pretty sure there's no defeating them, and Melinda is forced to use her corrupt powers. AFTER that go see her in last hope. When TheRani says

I'm pretty sure you can just talk to her again, plus I think he has the responses mixed up chronologically. Just talk to her and go all through the conversations, if your worried she'll cut you off if you say the wrong thing just chose the flirty options. THEN when you get to where you say your looking for a way to help her, go to your sher'tul fortress and talk to the octopus butler who will tell you to bring her there to cleanse her corruption. THEN go BACK to last hope, bring her there, and THEN you get the bikini unlock... phew!

I actually just achieved this so I'm pretty familiar. And next time... try the dumb questions thread first if your not positive its a bug.

Ah okay i see. I did cure her of her corruption though i do remember that, i just don't know if i did the other parts i just know she did live with me. But thanks, I'll try again.

Well once you get her into your sher'tul fortress, that should be when you get the unlock... so maybe it is a bug. That's when I got it, just today.

It's my first play through so... I might be wrong... but I don't think so

Maybe there should be a bug/spoilers subforum. Or a rule that spoilers should be tagged in a topic title.

I mean, this topic is pretty darn spoilery.

I feel pretty spoiled. I've been with ToME since day 1 and I didnt even know this event was a thing. I knew the mankini existed via SVN diving but I never cared much about it to attempt to pursue it.

sorry I didn't think about my spoilage... I'm not the kind of guy that puts that much importance on vids... I should have maybe blacked out my text with a spoiler tag on top

See that's when I thought you got it too, I had her in my fortress but no unlock. Was there anything special you did? and as for spoilers... Come on guys. Why would you click on this topic in this first place? Plus, there is one point in which you yourself can stop reading.
